The average cost of a furnace is in the range of $2,000 - $6,000. The average central air conditioner usually costs somewhere around $1,500 - $4,000. So if you need both systems upgraded, you’re probably looking at around $3,500 - $10,000. That cost is before you factor in installation costs.
You can make the purchase easier on your wallet with financing options from your heat & air provider. Call for more details at (905) 354-4424.
You should replace your central air conditioner when you notice signs of failure:
- Lack of airflow
- Foul odors
- Strange/loud noises
- No cool air
This is typically going to happen around 10 - 15 years of installation. If you need a professional opinion on the state of your AC system, call Evans at (905) 354-4424.
Some people may believe that air conditioning maintenance is not necessary, or not necessary to have done very often. The truth is that you should have your AC serviced a minimum of once a year. This will help you:
- Avoid breakdowns
- Save money on energy bills
- Extend the life of your system
Evans will help you make the most of these benefits with a detailed plan. Call for more details at (905) 354-4424.

Comfort club maintenance System as low on charge. Used refrigerant leak detector and could not pick up any leaks, Made customer aware of the situation. Recommend adding 410a refrigerant & UV dye to the system. Advise customer they will need to run system for 3-4 weeks for the dye to travel through the system. Provided quote to add dye and 410a refrigerant. Customer approved quote. Added 1.5 pounds and system is now operating normally.
Air conditioning maintenance PURCHASED NEW Inspected air conditioner, and found a wet spot on the outdoor coil. Ran system and checked pressures. System has low charge. Checked outdoor unit for leaks with refrigerant leak detection device. Detector picked up a leak where the wet spot is located. Made customer aware of the situation. Customer would like repair quote VS air handler / ac repalcement quote. Will get office to follow up. Due to the condition, will not perform maintenance and will charge a service call.
Water leak around furnace Customer states water was around the furnace. Customer did state outdoor hose shutoff was turned on the same day they noticed water on the floor. They did also have to tighten a cap on the shutoff handle. Few hours later the floor was still wet. Checked furnace, HRV, 2 humidifiers, & tankless unit for any leaks. Checked drain piping system coming from each HVAC equipment with a cup of water & to ensure no blockages in pipes. After further investigation, it appears the water that was leaking on to the floor from water shutoff was soaked up by the furnace styrofoam pad and eventually dried up. There are currently no signs of water leaking in the furnace room.
Red tags Furnace red tags: Enbridge issued red tag for the following 1)gas leak at gas valve on furnace 2)high co readings from furnace 1800ppm 3)leaking water from 636 vent pipe fitting. 1)Performed a soap & dial test of the entire house for 15 minutes & walked around the house inspecting gas pipe connections with gas leak detector device and found no leaks. 2) performed combustion analysis test and got a reading of 18ppm, not 1800ppm. No safety corners found for high co readings 3) there was a small water leak on one 636 fitting. Fixed fitting and tested for water leaks. No water leaks found.
