Work Performed: Follow-up combustion analysis on 2016 Daikin two-stage furnace after previous maintenance. Technician was concerned about higher CO readings during testing. Using a calibrated combustion analyzer, readings were taken and results showed approximately 85 ppm CO and 110 ppm CO air-free. Checked gas pressures, temperature rise, and overall combustion characteristics — all found to be within normal range for this Daikin model. Results: In my experience, these combustion levels are acceptable for this type of Daikin furnace, as Daikin and Goodman models are known to produce slightly higher CO readings while still operating safely and efficiently. Furnace is operating normally at this time and performing well after maintenance. Additional: Estimated client for a new Sensi Wi-Fi thermostat upgrade.

2004 Lennox high-efficiency single stage furnace — no heat, burning smell reported. Capacitor was replaced in August; upon inspection, capacitor tested OK. Found blower motor tight to spin and not rotating freely. Loosened blower wheel manually and inspected motor. Burning smell was most likely due to blower motor not spinning and the exchanger burning off dust with no air flow. Motor was found to be intermittently seizing due to internal wear. Was able to temporarily free the motor and energize it to complete a heating cycle for further diagnosis. All other components tested within specifications. Recommendation is to replace the blower motor, as continued operation may result in complete motor failure. Office will source the correct replacement and reach out to schedule installation. In the meantime, client will monitor furnace operation and only run heat when home to ensure the blower is operating.

I was called to a home to perform a furnace maintenance check. The draft inducer motor was making a lot of noise, so it needed to be replaced.
